FAQ

Bicycling

Redwood City is committed to enhancing cycling mobility within our community, including adding new bike lanes and routes, providing connections to regional bikeways, and improving bicycle facilities such as route signage, bicycle detectors at intersections, and bike racks throughout our city.

Bike to Work Day
The Bay Area's 21st annual Bike to Work Day will be held on Thursday, May 14, with all nine Bay Area counties participating. This event is part of National Bike Month. On Bike to Work Day, Energizer Stations are placed along Bay Area commute routes where bicyclists can conveniently stop for refreshments, giveaways, and bicycling information. Energizer Stations are open during morning commute hours. Visit Commute.org for more information about Bike to Work Day in San Mateo County, including a list of Energizer Stations (five in Redwood City!), information about the month-long team bike challenge, and an employer toolkit.

Bikeway Map
Visit Redwood City's interactive online map (GIS) for a map of bikeways. Click on the Layers/Legend tab, expand "Transportation", and then check and expand "Existing Bike Routes" and "Planned Bike Routes".
