REDWOOD CITY CHARITY HONORS SHUTTERFLY CEO AT BENE

The Young Dreamer Network, a Redwood City youth charity, will be hosting its 3rd Annual Benefit Dinner at the Fox Theatre in Redwood City on Thursday, May 2nd from 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM to honor Jeffrey Housenbold for the prestigious Dream of the Year award. Tickets are available for $75 at www.YoungDreamerNetwork.org/benefit and include dinner, a reception, an award ceremony, and a performance by a popular Bollywood dance troupe.

The event will celebrate the successes of local youth who are involved in the Young Dreamers Network, a Redwood City based charity that empowers students to make positive contributions to their communities and change the lives of children around the world. The highlight of the night will be presenting Jeffrey Housenbold, President and CEO of Shutterfly with the 3rd Annual Dreamer of the Year award.

“We are honored to recognize Jeffrey, as he embodies what the Dreamer of the Year award represents,” said Brian Buntz, Executive Director of the Young Dreamer Network. “His story is a tremendous inspiration for our students, and he is a positive role model to motivate our Young Dreamers academically.”

Jeffrey Housenbold faced tremendous adversity at a young age, but despite those challenges, he put himself through Carnegie Mellon University and Harvard Business School. Now, as President and CEO of Shutterfly, he has taken the company to new heights.

“It’s never too early to turn your dreams into reality”, said Jeffrey Housenbold. “I encourage each person to unlock their inner visionary, follow their passion, ignore the naysayers and push the limits of what’s possible. At Shutterfly, I am lucky that I can combine my personal passion for photography with my professional desire to create an innovative company that enables consumers to tell their personal stories and deepen connections with those who matter most.”

“It is truly be a special night for our supporters, as they will have a chance to see first-hand how their efforts, support and donations are changing the lives of children around the world and right here at home,” said Buntz.
