The mission of the City Clerk Department is to be a steward and protector of democratic processes, such as elections, access to official records, and to comply with federal, state and local statutes. The department supports the City Council in its goals of innovation, transparency and fairness while promoting community participation and awareness.
The City Clerk is appointed by the City Council. The

The filing period for nomination papers and candidate statements is July 15 to August 9, 2013. The period gets extended to August 14, 2013 if a qualified incumbent fails to file.
The nomination papers are to be obtained from the City Clerk and an appointment is recommended.
