Library customers come to our libraries with a wide array of technology questions and experience with computers. They may need help with understanding their new eReader, getting a Facebook account, or starting a resume. Many are seniors, English language learners, or computer beginners. Help increase digital literacy in our community at our drop-in technology labs or by teaching classes.
For more information on our digital literacy program, email us.
Join Traveling Storytime and read to preschoolers each week at a Redwood City preschool or home day care. Only 30 minutes a week will make a huge difference in a child's life.
In 2008, the Traveling Storytime Program celebrated the milestone of having read to 100,000 children since it began in 2001. The program was honored with a City Council Proclamation letter, presented by Mayor Rosanne Foust, honoring the volunteers for their, "exemplary and tireless efforts to enhance literacy in our community".
