Redwood City Civic Cultural Commission Sponsors Family Concert Featuring Acclaimed Performer Suni Paz, and the Citywide Children's Chorus of Redwood City

Redwood City, CA - November 3, 2003 - The Redwood City Civic Cultural Commission, along with People of Note and Linden Tree Children’s Records and Books are proud to present a community concert for the entire family - acclaimed performer, composer, and recording artist Suni Paz will appear on Sunday, November 9th at 2:00 pm at McKinley Middle School Auditorium, 400 Duane Street in Redwood City. Also appearing will be the Citywide Children’s Chorus of Redwood City. The concert is sponsored by the Redwood City Civic Cultural Commission, and tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for children (age 2-11). Tickets are available at the Redwood City Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, on weekdays from 8 am - 5 pm.

Suni Paz grew up in Buenos Aires and also lived in Chile. She says, “Music was part of our lives always. There were always guitars at home, and enormous, immense pianos. We were supposed to listen to music!” When she moved to the United States, she taught children who were studying about Latin America – her unique method of teaching them was through writing songs. Since then, Suni has recorded and performed extensively. Singing in English and Spanish, she has thrilled audiences of all ages on stage, radio, and television, all over the world. Her unique songs inspire positive ideas, the strength of the human spirit, and a caring world view.

Suni will be joined on stage by the Citywide Children’s Chorus of Redwood City under the direction of Orlene Chartain. This local group of boys and girls has performed locally at the ‘Tis the Season Parade and at Filoli, and have also performed with Tom Chapin and the Bayshore Lyric Opera Company. People of Note is a Los Altos-based foundation whose mission is the support of children's music education. Their website is Suni Paz website is located at
