January Brings Huge Book Sale and Events
for Everyone at Redwood City Public Library
Redwood City, CA - January 13, 2004
- The Friends of the Redwood City Public Library
have been busily restocking their supplies for a huge book
sale that takes place from 12 noon to 4 p.m. on Friday, January
30 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 31. The
two-day event will be held in the community room of the Redwood
City Public Library main library, located at 1044 Middlefield
Road.
A recent flood of high quality donations has prompted the
Friends to offer four book sales throughout the year. Thousands
of books for sale include high quality gardening books --great
for wintertime garden planning -- children’s books in
excellent condition, best sellers, and mysteries. Proceeds
from the sale will be used to buy books and other library
materials, and to sponsor the Summer Reading Club for children
and special programs for adults.
The Friends of the Library also invites adults to their upcoming
program, “Winter Holiday Traditions,” with facilitator
Warren Dale on Tuesday, January 20 at 7:30 p.m. Come prepared
to share your meaningful holiday traditions in this community
exchange of ideas.
Ongoing library programs for children include bedtime story
times for ages 3 - 8 on Mondays at 7:15 p.m.; for toddlers
ages 1 - 3 on Tuesdays at 11:30 a.m.; for preschoolers ages
3 - 5 on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.; and for infants and their
parent or caregiver on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. A program for
the whole family,” Spirit of the Rainforest”,
with Wildlife Associates takes place Wednesday, January 21
at 7 p.m.
The Redwood City Public Library offers many free programs
for children, adults, and families, and helps our community
to “understand the past, prepare for the future, and
thrive in the present.” For more information about library
