Redwood City Public Library Invites the Public to Celebrate Cricket Magazine’s 30th Birthday Party With the Creators of this Favorite Children’s Magazine
Redwood City, CA - March 2 , 2004 - The Friends of the Redwood City Public Library is pleased to invite the public to a free 30th birthday celebration for Cricket Magazine, the foremost magazine in the nation for children ages 9-12 years old. The event is appropriate for all ages and takes place on Saturday, March 13th, from 2 to 4 pm in the Community Room of the Main Library, 1044 Middlefield Road in Redwood City.
Editors and illustrators from Cricket Magazine will be on hand to read from their works, show their illustrations, and describe what it is like to work for one of the world’s most-loved children’s magazines. Presenters include Jan Adkins, Sara Kahn, Nancy Etchemendy, Angela Haight, Shirley Klock, and Elizabeth Robins. After their presentations there will be a question and answer period, a singing of ‘Happy Birthday’ to Cricket, and cake for all. Issues of the magazine will be handed out as party favors.
