Community Invited to Learn the Latest on Redwood Shores Community Library
Redwood City, CA - September 19 , 2005 - The community is invited to get the latest information on the future Redwood Shores Community Library at a design update meeting hosted by the City of Redwood City. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Sandpiper Community Center, 797 Redwood Shores Parkway, in Redwood Shores.
This is an opportunity for families in Redwood Shores - and any community member interested in the design of the new library - to get the latest information on how work on the project is proceeding. The project’s architects will present plans and a rendering of the most recent design changes. This much-anticipated addition to our system of community libraries is slated to open in late 2007.
The proposed Redwood Shores Community Library will be a full-service, high-tech facility with a wonderful mix of community meeting spaces that double as homework centers or classrooms that can stay open after the library closes; designated spaces for families and teens; lounge areas; information areas; and a bookstore look-and-feel for new books and media. Special features include an interactive interpretive center and a café.
The Redwood City Public Library sponsors many free programs for children, families, and adults, and is the learning center of the community. More information about library events and services is available on the library’s home page at www.redwoodcity.org/library, by calling 780-7026, or by picking up a Library events calendar in any Redwood City library.
Visit Redwood City’s award-winning website at www.redwoodcity.org for information about the City and its services, the community, recreation programs, education, and City government.
