Redwood Shores Branch Library Fundraising Campaign Announces “Dollar for Dollar” Donation Matching Program by Redwood Shores Community Association
Redwood City, CA - November 20, 2006 - The entire community is getting excited about the future Redwood Shores branch library – and the fundraising effort for its opening day collection is making waves in Redwood Shores! The City of Redwood City and the Campaign for the Opening Day Collection are pleased to announce that the Redwood Shores Community Association (RSCA) has generously agreed to match, dollar-for-dollar, all funds donated by Redwood Shores residents to the opening day collection, through December 31 st, up to a total of $50,000 (individual personal gifts will be matched up to $1,000).
“The generosity of the RSCA makes it possible for Redwood Shores residents to really leverage their donations,” said Redwood City Vice Mayor Rosanne Foust. “The RSCA will match individual gifts in the donor’s own name, and donors of $500 or more, plus the RSCA match, will qualify for recognition on the planned Library donor wall. Homeowners Associations and Neighborhoods are challenging each other, and the top donating areas will also be recognized by the Library .”
The “Campaign for the Opening Day Collection,” the fundraising effort to raise the $500,000 required to purchase materials to fill the new library, is in full swing. In this campaign, businesses and residents are being provided contribution information by campaign volunteers, through scheduled events and activities, and through special mailings.
