Downtown Redwood City Sparkles for the Holidays with Banners, Bows, Decorated Trees, and Lights!
Redwood City, CA - December 10, 2007 - Downtown Redwood City is alive with holiday decorations and the spirit of the season! What a great time to bring the family Downtown to enjoy the holiday lights and decorations, take in a movie or some shopping, visit one of the fine Downtown restaurants, and enjoy the many beautifully-decorated trees on display in Downtown windows.
Gigantic red bows adorn many lamp posts, colorful banners help to spread cheer throughout Downtown, the glittering lights are brilliant in street trees and on Courthouse Square, and many Downtown windows are aglow with beautiful decorated trees as part of the Downtown Business Group’s (DBG) 1st Annual Hometown Holidays Community Tree Decorating Contest. The entire Downtown is a holiday spectacular that should not be missed!
The DBG’s contest will determine which non-profit community group and which business did the best, most spectacular job of decorating – and the community is voting! Ballots are available at Savvy Cellar, the Fox Theater, City Hall, the Downtown Library, Lulu’s, and the Century Downtown 20 Theater. The deadline for voting is 5 pm, Wednesday, December 19th, and the winning displays will be posted on December 21st.
The entire community – young and old, families, friends, and neighbors – is invited to come Downtown and experience the holiday spirit of Redwood City!
The Redwood City Downtown Business Group is dedicated to helping shape the future direction of Downtown, creating and supporting Downtown activities and programs, sharing information, opinions, and recommendations with the City Council, and sustaining Downtown businesses with a supportive business resource network.
