Redwood City’s Neighborhood Liaison Program Offer ing FREE Disaster Preparedness Training
Redwood City, CA - July 17th, 2008 – The Redwood City Neighborhood Liaison program will be offering free Disaster Preparedness training at an “Are You Ready?” class next Thursday July 24 from 7 – 9 pm at the Senior Veterans Memorial Center located at 1455 Madison Avenue in Redwood City.
"Are You Ready? " is a quick, fun, and informative introduction to the basics of what to do before, during, and after a major disaster. It 's perfect for individuals, families, or groups that may not currently have the time to attend Redwood City’s more-intensive Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program.
The workshop will be lead by one of Redwood City’s Firefighters. Highlights will include: what to include in a 72-hour emergency kit, how to protect and secure a home from a disaster, information on the Redwood City ‘Code Red’ emergency notification system, and resources on how to make sure that other neighbors also receive this life-sustaining training.
This will be a mere two hours that could be life changing for families and neighbors. To attend, simply RSVP to 780-5905 or email to firstname.lastname@example.org by Wednesday, July 23. Space is limited, so interested community members are encouraged to RSVP as soon as possible. Find a friend or neighbor to participate, too, and sign up together!
