Call for Entries for Redwood City’s Presents Salsa Tasting & Competition - Win $500 or Other Great Prizes!
Redwood City, CA - August 14th , 2008 - The Redwood City Salsa Festival is September 20th from noon to 8 pm throughout Downtown, and it includes a great opportunity for amateur and professional salsa chefs to compete for fun, prizes, and Salsa Glory! It’s the mouth watering and exciting Salsa Tasting & Competition with a $500 Grand Prize for the Best Salsa, and loads of great prizes in additional categories! There’s even an award for Best Decorated Booth. Our Salsa Competition is so hot…it’s cool!
Teams are invited to enter the salsa challenge as amateurs, or professionals such as restaurants. Categories are: Most Creative, Mild, Medium, Hot, and Fruit.
On September 20th, a qualified panel of judges will evaluate all of the entries based on taste, consistency and originality. And, festival-goers will be able to purchase a tasting kit which they can use to cast their vote for the “People’s Choice Award.”
Competition entry fees are $75.00 for professionals/restaurants and $50.00 for amateur teams. Space is limited, and entry is first come, first served so teams are encouraged to enter right away.

This Salsa Tasting & Competition is part of The Redwood City Salsa Festival, a free Community Celebration happening on September 20th. The festival guarantees a fun-filled day of tongue-tingling salsa, great activities, music and entertainment, food, beverages, and a wonderful time for the entire family from noon until 8 pm.
