Archived News Release from 2008 For Immediate Release “Scare on the Square” FREE Halloween-Inspired Movies Outdoors in October – at Courthouse Square Redwood City, CA - October 2, 2008 - Redwood City announces another of its incredible variety of FREE activities, perfect for the whole family! Saturday, October 4th is the start of “Scare on the Square” FREE Halloween-inspired outdoor movies! The first feature is “Addams Family” which shows at 6:45 pm. The community is invited to join with friends, families, and neighbors for three weekends of FREE Halloween-inspired spooky films right on Courthouse Square (weather permitting). In addition to “The Addams Family” kids and adults alike will enjoy the hit “The Spiderwick Chronicles,” as well as Tim Burton’s now-classic film, “Edward Scissorhands” on our 25-foot inflatable outdoor BIG screen! With the variety of restaurants downtown, many people will make an evening of it with dinner and a movie. Save your receipts because we will be giving away free popcorn with proof of purchase from any Downtown business on the day of the movie.
