“Bluegrass on Broadway” Festival Brings Great FREE Music to Redwood City

Redwood City, CA - February 3, 2009 – From February 26 to March 1, Bluegrass music takes center stage at the Bluegrass on Broadway Festival in Downtown Redwood City. The Northern California Bluegrass Society is bringing top-notch Bluegrass entertainment to Redwood City with concerts, workshops, special programs, lectures, author’s symposium, children’s events, and even a film festival - and it's all free. The Bluegrass on Broadway Festival is produced in cooperation with the Redwood City Civic Cultural Commission, the Redwood City Public Library, Redwood City Friends of the Library, and Peninsula Christian Center. Here is the 2009 schedule of great, free Bluegrass events:

  • THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 19
    • 7:30 - 11 pm – The Big BOB Warm-Up Jam

    • 6:30 - 8:30 pm – Bluegrass Author Symposium with Lisa Aschmann & Roger Siminoff

    • 8:30 - 11 pm – Live Bluegrass with The Stoney Mountain Ramblers

  • FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 27
    • Noon – 2 pm – Brown Bag Noontime Concert with the Book ‘Em Dan-O Ramblers

    • 4:30 – 6 pm – After School Ice Cream Concert with The Tuttle Family and A. J. Lee Young’s Ice Cream & Candy Bar Emporium, 2020 Broadway. All ages welcome!                                                                                    
    • 7 – 11 pm – A Special Friday Evening of Bluegrass Dining! Enjoy a meal and music at Little India, Bob’s Courthouse Café, or Angelica’s Bistro, then gather at Angelica’s to close out the evening.
    • 7 – 9 pm – Live Bluegrass with Hotwire, Tina Louise Barr, and John Gwinner
