Redwood City, CA - August 31 , 2009 - The Redwood City Police Activities League (PAL) announces the 5th Annual PAL Fundraiser - Night of PAL Stars featuring well-known comedian Bob Sarlatte as emcee, Simon and Lucy from Dancing with the Stars, the Magic of Ryan Adler, and much more. This hugely successful fundraising event is an important way to help PAL continue its work on intervention, prevention, and alternative programs for at-risk and economically challenged youth in Redwood City.
It’s a great opportunity to join other members of the Redwood City community for a fun, exciting, laugh-filled evening for a great cause on Thursday October 1st, from 5 pm to 9:30 pm, at Carrington Hall on the Sequoia High School Campus. One-hundred percent of the ticket sales (tax deductible donation) go to support PAL programs.
The evening starts with fabulous pre-show hors d’oeuvres, non-alcoholic specialty drinks, kid's entertainment, and enjoying time with other community members who recognize the great value that our PAL program provides to our community. There will be both live and silent auctions, and then the world-class variety show starts. Tickets are available NOW by calling 650-780-7601. ($50 per person or $125 per family (up to 5 family members)
Each year at this renowned event, PAL recognizes individuals who exemplify community spirit in their work and personal lives. For the 2009 event, Redwood City's own Mark Simon will present the PAL Alpio Barbara Citizen of the Year Award to bay area broadcasting icon Pete Liebengood, and the PAL Uccelli Smile Award to local publisher Steve Penna. These exceptional individuals have exhibited their support with tireless involvement in PAL and the community of Redwood City, and their help and support has served as a great example to others throughout the community.
Food and libations are provided courtesy of Arguello Catering, Milagros, Vino Santo, Flaming Fresco, Max’s, My Nonni’s Italian Food, and other local restaurants. The event is generously sponsored by Hannig Law Firm, Danford Foundation, Redwood General Tire, Wells Fargo Bank, San Mateo Credit Union, United American Bank, Pete's Harbor, Orthoworks, DES Architects and Engineers, Norcal Waste Systems of San Mateo County, Crippen & Flynn, Kaiser Permanente, and BKF Engineers Planners Surveyors.
This fundraiser will help support Redwood City PAL as it provides a positive influence on thousands of children and teen lives each year with its many youth programs and its great volunteers who give their time and energy to help build a great community.
