Celebrate the Grand Re-Opening of Hoover Park in Redwood City - “Redwood City Pride in the Community Day”

Redwood City, CA - June 3, 2009 - For six months, the sports field and playground at Hoover Park have been closed as the City makes some major improvements for the community’s enjoyment.

Now, everyone in the nearby neighborhoods and the entire community are invited to join in the celebration for the Grand Re-Opening of Hoover Park!

  • Saturday, June 13th
    10 am – 1 pm
Hoover Park, Woodside Road at Spring Street

What a great, fun, free family event! Everyone can try out the new synthetic sports fields, experience the new expanded playground area and equipment, and enjoy giveaways and fun sponsor/vendor booths. Plus, the FC Gold Pride Women’s Professional Soccer team players and their mascot, Pounce, will be on hand to meet local soccer families and sign autographs. Visit the FC Gold Pride website at www.fcgoldpride.com.

Youth soccer players can join FC Gold Pride Academy's new Kick It skills competition and show off their dribbling, passing, and shooting.

Sponsored by the City of Redwood City and its Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department, Verde Design, and FC Gold Pride Women’s Professional Soccer team, this Redwood City Pride in the Community Day Event is a great family opportunity for a fun day as we share our pride in Redwood City. Thanks also to these companies for their support: Oceano Hotel & Spa, Soccer Pro Soccer Shop, All West LAX Camp, and Jamba Juice of Redwood City.
