Redwood City Offering Rebates up to $150 Toward Purchase of High-Efficiency Toilet
Redwood City, CA - August 5, 2009 - Redwood City is joining with the Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency (BAWSCA) to offer rebates of up to $150 toward the purchase of a new high-efficiency toilet. This is a great way for Redwood City residents to reduce their cost when buying a new toilet, save a lot of water, help the environment, and save money on their water bill.
This rebate is available when an existing toilet that uses 3.5 gallons per flush or more is replaced with a qualifying High-Efficiency Toilet (HET).
A remarkable 26% of the average household’s water use is from toilet flushing. One of the easiest ways to lower a home’s water use is to install an HET, which uses an average of just 1.3 gallons per flush, or less. In fact, HETs can reduce a toilet’s water use by up to 62%. That’s saving money on a household’s water bill every month! And there’s no need to worry about how well they work – these are high-quality toilets that perform very well.
This rebate program is offered by Redwood City, BAWSCA (www.bawsca.org). and other cities in San Mateo County as a way to help our community get rid of the older toilets that waste a lot of our precious water.
All the details and a list of qualifying toilets are available at www.redwoodcity.org/conservation or by calling 780-7436. Get a new high-efficiency toilet and a rebate application at any of these Redwood City retail stores (or through a qualified plumber):

Lots of people are finding it easy to go “green” by replacing their old toilet with a brand new HET, and saving up to $150 on their purchase, plus they’re saving money on every water bill.
