Redwood City Hosting Community Information meeting on New Residential Recycle/Compost/Garbage Collection Services
Redwood City, CA - September 7, 2010 - The new CartSMART Recycle, Compost and Garbage Carts will start being delivered to Redwood City residents on September 22 – so now is the time to find out all about this great new service that begins in January, 2011. The community is invited to learn more about the new CartSMART collection services at a community meeting hosted by Redwood City and presented by RethinkWaste.org:

The meeting will include the viewing of a video on the new curbside services, information on the service changes, and plenty of time for questions and answers. Representatives from RethinkWaste, Recology San Mateo County, who will be the future service provider, and the City will be on hand to answer questions. Formed in 1982, RethinkWaste is a joint powers authority comprised of 12 Member Agencies (Atherton, Belmont, Burlingame, East Palo Alto, Foster City, Hillsborough, Menlo Park, Redwood City, San Carlos, San Mateo, the County of San Mateo and the West Bay Sanitary District) in San Mateo County and is a leader in implementing innovative waste reduction and recycling programs. RethinkWaste also owns and manages the Shoreway facility in San Carlos consisting of a permitted solid waste transfer station and a recycling processing facility.
