Redwood City Library Hosting Bay Area Gardeners Foundation College Seminar
Redwood City, CA - January 31, 2011 - The Redwood City Public Library is hosting a College Seminar, provided by the Bay Area Gardeners Foundation, for parents and students from middle school to college age, which will provide valuable information about higher education, schools, financial aid, scholarships, and more. This special Seminar takes place on Saturday, February 5th, 2011 at 1 pm, at Redwood City’s Downtown Library, 1044 Middlefield Road.
This Seminar will provide useful information for our youth and their parents about college options, to help them find the right college path, create a plan for college success, complete their higher education, and continue to grow as valued members of our community.
During this Seminar, special guest speakers will inspire and motivate, with a great deal of real-life information that will help students and their parents as they move toward college.
Saturday’s Seminar will include:
- Redwood City Vice Mayor (and Cañada College professor) Alicia Aguirre, talking about college education
- Margie Carrington of Cañada College, providing information on state and federal programs
- An overview of the many great, helpful Library programs provided by the Redwood City Public Library
- Scholarship applications for Bay Area Gardeners Foundation, and other organizations
- Light refreshments will be provided by the Redwood City Public Library
