City Seeks Proposals for Funding of Human Services Financial Assistance Projects
Redwood City, CA - July 12, 2011 - The City of Redwood City is requesting proposals for eligible projects to be funded under its Human Services Financial Assistance (HSFA) Program. The City will be allocating $117,511 in City general funds for the HSFA Program.
These funds are potentially available to organizations providing assistance to low and moderate income households residing within Redwood City, and that meet the City’s “Consolidated Plan Priorities” relating to homelessness and basic human needs services.
Completed proposals must be delivered to Fair Oaks Community Center, 2600 Middlefield Road, Redwood City no later than noon on Friday, August 5, 2011, or mailed early enough to be received no later than noon on Friday, August 5, 2011. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Applications received after this date and time will not be accepted.
The City of Redwood City HSFA provides monetary support to local non-profit agencies whose programs respond to the human service needs of Redwood City residents. This funding is not intended for use as the sole support of any agency. All recipients of financial assistance grants enter into a contractual agreement with the City detailing the specific objectives to be accomplished as a result of the grant.
A number of important criteria and requirements must be met by the applying agencies. A workshop to provide applicants with technical assistance for submitting competitive proposals for this funding has been scheduled at the Fair Oaks Community Center, 2600 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, Classroom 1, on Friday, July 15th from 1 to 2:30 pm.
