Two Remarkable "Meet the Author" Events Scheduled at the Redwood City Public Library
Redwood City, CA - August 14, 2012 - The Redwood City Public Library is pleased to announce two very special Meet the Author events. One is in late August and features Jim Rogers and his book "Bay Area Backpacking: 10 to Begin," and the other is in early September with Katie Crouch, New York Times bestselling author of the Magnolia League series for young adults, and other books.
The community is invited to join an exploration of the wilderness in our own Bay Area backyard. The San Francisco Bay Area offers a variety of backpacking destinations, perfect for all ages and abilities. Avid hiker and author Jim Rogers will talk about ten great backpacking trips within a one to two hour drive of anywhere in the Bay Area.
As Jim describes trips from Point Reyes National Seashore to the Ohlone Wilderness, and to Butano and Henry Coe State Parks, he’ll introduce natural and historic features to discover on foot. He'll discuss where to find majestic redwoods, rare birds, spectacular vistas, and waterfalls. There will also be valuable information about trip-planning essentials, including reservations, facilities, and resources for gear and more. Jim will sign copies of his guide, Masters on the Trail. Jim's website is
