Redwood City, CA - September 24, 2012 - “Redwood City Together,” a collaborative coordinated by Redwood City 2020 and the City of Redwood City, invites the community to experience a remarkable and inspiring photo exhibition, “Faces of Our Community.” A series of 26 photographs and quotes depict the extraordinarily rich diversity of the Redwood City community, featuring a wide array of long-term residents as well as newcomers from all walks of life in Redwood City, whose origins are from all over the world. The beautiful professional photographs provide a powerful glimpse into the lives of these subjects and their families, as members of the Redwood City community.

The exhibition will be installed at the Gallery Annex, 2115 Broadway (next to the Old Spaghetti Factory), and a special reception to open the show will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012 from 5 – 7 pm (short program at 6 pm). The exhibition opening also offers an opportunity to meet some of the photo subjects personally, and hear their stories and about their lives in Redwood City. The exhibit is made possible with funding from the Silicon Valley Community Foundation and the generous support of the San Mateo Credit Union. The Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center (PCRC) is an important partner in coordinating this effort, and the cooperation of the Gallery Annex is appreciated.

The Faces of Our Community exhibit will be on display at the Gallery Annex for the month of October. Many of the photos will be displayed in the windows facing Broadway, and a schedule of open hours for viewing the interior displayed photos will be posted on the Gallery Annex door.

The “Faces of Our Community” exhibition is sponsored by Redwood City Together, a collaboration of caring community members and organizations working to build a stronger, inclusive, and welcoming community. Redwood City Together highlights an appreciation of shared values and builds on the strength of our diversity. People from all backgrounds want safe streets for children, neighbors who look out for each other, and a thriving community where all can prosper together. The group is coordinated by Redwood City 2020, a collaborative of key public and private organizations in our community working to ensure the health and success of all children, youth and families served by the Redwood City School District. Together, the partners of RWC 2020 identify barriers and then implement collaborative approaches that will open the doors to success. Visit
