Redwood City PAL Presents the 2012 Blues, Arts, and BBQ Festival FREE in Downtown Redwood City!

Redwood City, CA - Juily 20, 2012 - On July 27th and 28th, the Blues will rule in Redwood City, at the annual Redwood City PAL Blues Arts and BBQ Festival! What a great way to spend a beautiful summer day and evening, basking in Redwood City’s glorious weather, enjoying top-notch blues performers, a fun family area with a kids’ arcade, delicious food, and Downtown merchants and restaurants - all showcased by Redwood City’s beautiful Courthouse Square, and helping to benefit the crucial programs of the Redwood City Police Activities League (PAL). Here’s the lineup (see for details):

  • Friday, July 27 starting at 6 pm
    6 pm – Frank Bey with The Anthony Paule Blues Band
    8 pm – After Party with Doctor Sid Morris plus Special Guest (at Backyard Coffee, 965 Brewster Ave)
  • Saturday, July 28 from 11 am – 8 pm
    Dave Earl – Steve Gannon – Andy Santana – Cold Feat – Ron Hacker and the Hacksaws – Gary Smith – Sista Monica – Blues Power with Harmonica Blow-Off Grand Finale!
    8 pm –After Partywith Sid Morris plus Special Guest Guest (at Backyard Coffee, 965 Brewster Ave)

SPECIAL BONUS Blues Festival Warm Up – everyone’s invited to get in the festival spirit early, by enjoying Caravan of Allstars on Wednesday, July 25th, 2012, from 6 pm-8 pm at Stafford Park. Get all the details about the 2012 PAL Blues Festival at

Now in its seventh year, the Festival boasts a BBQ Cook-off Competition, where amateur and professional chefs compete for fun, plaques, and BBQ glory. The entire community is invited to enjoy Downtown and the Festival, plus the unique artist booths of Art on the Square that will fill the area with stunning art all day on Saturday the 28th. Proceeds from this fun and exciting family festival will directly benefit the important programs of Redwood City PAL. PAL offers prevention and intervention programs to the youth of the community including programs such as the citywide sports programs and after school programs. Visit PAL’s website at

Purchasing food, beverages, prize tickets, and T-shirts at the Blues Festival will provide funds to help Redwood City PAL continue its work focusing on intervention, prevention, and alternative programs for at-risk and economically challenged youth in Redwood City. Redwood City PAL influences thousands of children and teen lives in positive ways each year, thanks to the great volunteers who give of their time and energy.
