6-Alarm Fire at 926 Woodside in Redwood City
Fire reported under control at 8:56AM
Redwood City, Calif. - The Redwood City Fire Department brought a 6-alarm fire at 926 Woodside Road - the location of an apartment building - under control at approximately 8:56AM this morning. Four residents with minor injuries were transported to local hospitals. At this time, there are no known fatalities. The apartment complex consisted of 73 units with 72 occupied.
The City is asking for the media's assistance in sharing that all displaced residents should immediately report to the Red Morton Community Center, 1120 Roosevelt, Redwood City where the City of Redwood City, County of San Mateo, and the American Red Cross have set up an evacuation center. At this time, 55 tenants have registered at the community center.
Woodside Road, from Massachusetts to Gordon, will be closed indefinitely. Residents are strongly advised to find alternative routes.
