Update: 926 Woodside Rd. Fire

Redwood City, Calif. - With the 6-alarm fire at 926 Woodside under control as of 8:56AM, fire fighters are in the "overhaul" stage of the fire, meaning that they are checking for any hidden fires in areas such as walls or ceilings.

Seventy one displaced residents have checked into the evacuation center located at  Red Morton Community Center, 1120 Roosevelt, Redwood City.  Residents at the evacuation center are receiving food, toiletries, and medical assistance for items such as medications or eye glasses left behind at the complex.

The City of Redwood City, County of San Mateo, American Red Cross, and other non-profits are collabortively working together to further support the displaced residents of the fire. The County of San Mateo  has set up a hotline (650.363.4433) for displaced residents to receive ongoing voice recorded updates. Residents will not have access to their belongings today. If community members would like to help the displaced residents, please consider a donation to the American Red Cross. Finally, Woodside Road, Massachusetts to Gordon, will continue to be closed indefinitely.
