Redwood City’s Parks Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) Department Awarded Redwood City Education Foundation’s (RCEF) 2014 “Investor Award”

Award Information
The RCEF Investor Award recognizes organizations for their substantial and long-term support of the RCEF and the Redwood City School District. Previous winners include the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, Sequoia Healthcare District, the Port of Redwood City, the Redwood City Cultural Commission, Wells Fargo, Oracle and the Westly Foundation.

Background on Selection

  • The Redwood City Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department has partnered closely with the RCEF to stage and promote two of the Foundation’s fund raising events: 4th of July Parade Run and OktobeRun Half Marathon and 5K race.
  • Overall support of Redwood City’s school children through programs like Ready, Set, Run – pioneered by Redwood City Recreation Coordinator Erin Niemeyer – to train children and youth for the  4th of July Parade Run.

Investor Award to be presented to PRCS Director Chris Beth at the Foundation’s Benefit for a Brighter Future “Game Day” event, April 4, 2014, 5:30-8:30pm, at The Grove at Cañada College, 4200 Farm Hill Boulevard, Redwood City. Tickets:
