 Music on the Square
rodeo houseFriday, May 29, 2009
Courthouse Square, Downtown RWC
Rodeo House • Country Rock
Sponsored by The WOLF

The Rodeo House band was formed in November of 2005 by singers Christina Amato and Dave Scott.  Amato and Scott bring dynamic stage presence and fantastic vocal range to the fore, and back each other seamlessly with beautiful harmonies The band’s distinctive sound is generated by the pedal steel playing of Chuck Manchester who has been performing since the 1950s and gives Rodeo House the sound that few bands can achieve! Rodeo House plays primarily contemporary music of the country genre, and brings a nice blend of old time country and western, and bawdy blues together that makes for a great show! The members of the Rodeo House don't just play music, they entertain and have fun! This flows over to the guests watching the band and they can't help but to get up and dance, laugh, and have a good time!

1st Annual RCSD Festival of the Arts

Courthouse Square

The first ever district-wide Festival of the Visual and Performing Arts will be held at Courthouse Square this June. Students from all K-8 schools in the Redwood City School District will perform music, drama, dance, and showcase visual artwork. Join us for this spectacular family event and have an opportunity to see what schools throughout the district are doing in the arts. This event is being organized by a district-wide Visual and Performing Arts Committee comprised of guidance of the district’s Visual and Performing Arts Coordinator. It is free to the public.

Phantom Galleries

Join us in celebrating the creativity and artistry of students in Redwood City School District as student drawings, paintings, collage artwork from each of the district’s 15 schools is displayed in the storefronts at the corner of Broadway and Jefferson Street in downtown Redwood City, from May 11 through the end of June.  An artists’ reception will be held on Sun., May 17, from 3:30-5:30, in the space at 2125 Broadway to honor our student artists.  Family, teachers, and friends are invited to join the celebration, as we share art, food, and music by Corpus Callosum, and Pellet Factory and Lacey Bryant painting live.  The project, Phantom Galleries, brings together community artists with property owners and the Redwood City Redevelopment Agency to enliven vacant storefronts and alternative spaces with vibrant art exhibitions and murals. The project is produced by Two Fish Design. For more information, please call 408-271-5151 or visit
