| Senior Center Week |
A new generation of older adults is examining and making decisions about retirement, and with that is a growing focus on wellness, work, and volunteerism. When it comes to finding tools for staying healthy and involved, and other relevant information, senior centers are the often the best place to start. The Redwood City Veteran's Memorial Senior Center invites the community to learn more about its programs and services during National Senior Center Week, September 10-14, 2007. The theme of this year's celebration is “ Senior Centers Work! ” and a number of activities have been planned, including:
A Morning of Healing Arts
Monday, September 10, 9:30am
The morning starts with a panel discussion featuring practitioners in the fields of chiropractic, acupressure, massage, Reiki, and drumming and continues with a hands-on experience for those to wish to try these various methods of healing. This event is free and open to the entire community.
The Myths and Realities of Hospice lecture
Wednesday, September 12, 10:30am
This lecture is free and open to the entire community. Help At Home and Staying Independent –

| After-School Recreation Staff Needed |
The Redwood City Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department is looking for positive and motivated individuals! If you are 16 years or older and looking to work with kids in an after school environment, then this is for you! Opportunities exist at School Site Programs. Salaries range from $7.50 - $14.75 per hour.
We are accepting applications now and you can apply in three ways:

This Online Drivers Education Course is approved by the California Department of Motor Vehicles. Reading, flash graphics, video’s, and quizzes will prepare the reader to pass the written DMV test. The course is very easy to use. You simply log into the web site, enroll, and you can begin immediately! |
