Can’t Get Enough of the Cargill Saltworks Project?
Stacie Chan, Redwood City Patch, 8/20/11
The city just released a summary of all the comments, public outreach and formal documents associated with the project.
The city has compiled thousands of Cargill Saltworks project comments, documents and project alternatives over a six-month period into a comprehensive 50-page Scoping Report.
From Oct. 12, 2010, to March 31 of this year, five meetings were held on various topics from water supply to transportation. Hundreds of engaged residents attended to submit comments, alternative proposals for the land and simply to gain more knowledge.
Interested individuals can read comments here: http://www.redwoodcity.org/phed/planning/saltworks/scoping_process_comments.asp. Comments are now available electronically to save paper.
For those who want to keep up to date on exactly where the process stands, check on this website for the latest updates. http://www.redwoodcity.org/phed/planning/saltworks/pdf/other/other/ERP_roadmap.pdf
The applicant said that an updated project description is in the process of being prepared and will be submitted for review later this year. Once this project description is reviewed, the city will issue a second Notice of Preparation for the environmental impact report, which will begin the second review period.
